The situation

Arturo Cruz was a line cook at a Tribeca bar who spent every Friday making his mother’s famed salsa as a treat for the kitchen. His regulars quickly fell in love with the undeniably delicious recipe (made from only six ingredients), and helped turn it into a business. But it needed a brand, one that would be the authentic voice in a crowded category. We’ve been his partner since day one, and still continue to move the brand forward today.

The solution

We built a brand entirely rooted in Arturo: Tenayo is the name of the town where he grew up, and the logo is written in his handwriting. His passion, and his love for making salsa, is at the heart of everything. The brand has been unbelievably received by press, and today, his mother’s recipe is in grocery stores across the country.
