For most queer and trans folks, healthcare sucks. Insurance is confusing and it’s impossible to get appointments, not to mention being forced to talk with practitioners about sex lives they don’t understand. Each turn is met with more boundaries and shame. Cue Folx Health. Founded by A.G. Breitenstein, Folx is the first-ever holistic, queer healthcare platform that removes the barriers—and the stigmas—from the queer and trans medical experience. Working closely with A.G., we assembled an all-queer team at Red Antler to build a brand that would not only position Folx as a healthcare leader, but would deliver a groundbreaking resource that lets the queer and trans community be ourselves. Together, we created a queer and trans-centric brand system, one that uses bold, uncompromising language, gets playful with symbol compositions, and breaks convention across the spectrum to celebrate our lives and finally give healthcare a new voice.

According to the drugstore aisle, there are four hair types: curly, color-treated, straight, and "ethnic." Prose makes haircare so custom, there are over 79 trillion formulations. Shampoos and conditioners made for long hair, short hair, stressed out hair, hair in heat, vegan hair, and everything in between. After working with us to launch its brand in 2016, Prose engaged our team again for its first-ever national campaign. Our goal was to help people see that custom isn’t just a gimmick; it’s the only thing that makes sense.

Through its proprietary haircare technology Prose has proven that everything from what you eat to where you live impacts your hair, making it defy standard typification. To drive this home, we created a campaign that subverted people’s expectations about hair type - even casting a pair of genetically identical twins - to show that hair that looks the same can have entirely different needs.

We make coffee every day, but the way we make it hasn’t changed in years. We met founders, Andrew and Palo, in the midst of their passionate pursuit to revolutionize the at-home coffee experience. Thanks to a breakthrough reverse gravitational technique, they had created an entirely new form of coffee that extracts the most from every bean. Versatile, deliciously smooth, and 20x more concentrated, this Ultra Coffee is a game-changer. But to convince consumers to wake up their coffee routine, the business needed a brand experience that matched Jot’s quality and craft. We obsessed over every expression of the brand - the name, the symbol, digital experience, packaging, and more - weaving in moments of magic and potential at every drop.

Jot's site design imagines the magic of the product as a surreal and delicious digital experience. Discovery moments like the bubbles floating up on the Process page, or the oversized text snaking through coffee cups subtly allude to Jot’s reverse gravitational extraction technique. 

To push the magical message of Jot even further, we brought the brand to life in a series of videos, GIFs, and stills using a custom-made kitchen set. Published across the website, social, and in performance marketing ads, the content serves to educate consumers on how easy it is to use Jot, depicting a new coffee ritual where the outcomes are unusual, and the possibilities are endless.

Founded by Eric Glyman and Karim Atiyeh, Ramp is a corporate card combined with financial software to help businesses work, spend, and save smarter. Our brand for Ramp creates a whole new kind of status symbol — one rooted in financial integrity and genuine growth. The brand has both a modern boldness and a sophisticated restraint. The dramatic sense of scale and energizing highlight color speak to exponential growth. And we were sure to create a physical card that today's visionary business leaders would be proud to throw down. With a recent valuation of $8 billion, Ramp is NYC's fastest growing startup.

In a world where natural climate disasters are on the rise, only half of American adults are prepared for an emergency. Simon Huck set out to change that with Judy, a no-nonsense ready kit that would equip families with the right supplies and plans to create the best-case scenario in any situation. We worked with Simon to build Judy from the ground up, creating a brand that could bring a sense of optimism and guidance to an otherwise overwhelming topic. Our brand system, from the name and illustration style to the iconography and organizational design, works to transform emergency preparation from an intimidating task to a point of pride and reassurance.

Judy was selected for the Beazley Designs of the Year 2020 exhibit at The Design Museum in London. Allbirds is on a mission to prove that comfort, good design, and sustainability don’t have to be mutually exclusive. They’re dedicated to making the most sustainable footwear using premium natural materials, designed for the to and fro of everyday life. To support their mission, we created a packaging experience guided by the brand’s simple and sustainable approach to design.

Shortly following the success of their e-commerce launch, Allbirds began expanding into brick-and-mortar locations. The retail environment posed new challenges for the DTC packaging that Allbirds originally launched with, including inventory storage, in-store handling, and purchasing. Knowing that Allbirds would be introducing new footwear products in their pipeline, we also needed to create a flexible packaging design system that could scale across a range of shoe sizes and styles - everything from flip-flops to high tops.

We worked closely with the Allbirds team to further evolve the packaging and innovate within the constraints posed by traditional footwear retail. Building on our early retail concepts for their in-store experience, we saw an opportunity to bring inventory into the retail space and create an entirely new shopping experience. This has the dual advantage of both reducing the time-to-try and increasing efficiency of the space by removing the back of house storage. 

Our solution was to make the shoeboxes not only a core feature of the in-store experience but also the foundation of a multi-functional packaging system. The resulting design serves as a shoebox, shopping bag, mailer, and in-store display all in one. When stacked, the boxes create a colorful backdrop and also function as easy-to-read inventory storage that can constantly evolve as new colorways are released each season.

Since its launch in 2016, Allbirds has shipped over a million pairs of shoes worldwide and continues to expand internationally.

Traditional direct-to-consumer footwear packaging often relies on box-in-box solutions that are wasteful and unnecessary. We saw an opportunity to completely reimagine the way sneakers are packaged and shipped DTC and position Allbirds as an innovative leader in the category.

Challenging ourselves to reduce complexity and unnecessary waste, we created a memorable unboxing experience with minimal packaging that served as both the mailer and shoebox. Our final design used 40% less materials compared to traditional direct-to-consumer shoe packaging.

Smallbirds was a natural extension of the Allbirds brand, but our challenge was to translate the story in a way that would resonate with kids. We reimagined the brand pillars of comfort, exploration, and sustainability with inventive characters and playful packaging design.

In today’s world of digital addiction, singles are so busy scrolling, liking, and matching that they’re not actually connecting with each other. Hinge was on a mission to change that. After conducting a refresh of its brand system and app interface, the brand re-engaged Red Antler to launch a campaign that would show daters its app is made for real, meaningful connections.

Hinge believes the entire point of using a dating app should be to find someone—and dump the app. So, we created an integrated campaign rooted in the promise that Hinge is "The Dating App Designed to Be Deleted". Then we delivered on this by bringing a furry version of the Hinge app icon to life for the express purpose of dying every time a couple hits it off. From broadcast TV, to subway, to a mural that begged to be destroyed, we took drastic measures to make Hinge’s first international ad campaign truly killer. 

As a direct result of the 'Designed to Be Deleted' campaign, Hinge's app downloads increased by 45%.

Our billboard on a graffiti-heavy street corner in Bushwick actually encouraged people to vandalize it—a contextual wink to Hinge’s goal of getting deleted.

A year later, Hinge asked us to evolve the campaign and produce a second round of the creative that delivered on the successes of the first: more gruesome Hingie deaths, more cheese-tastic music, and new dating scenarios that would appeal to an audience outside of major cities. All told, Hingie has met his demise 18 different ways and the brand is on track to triple its revenue by end of year.

The hero ingredient of Rootless’ once-daily nutrition bite is seaweed, one of earth’s most nutrient-dense and diverse foods, with dozens of vitamins and minerals. Regions where people eat seaweed every day have lower incidence of disease, and consumption might even be linked to longevity. Yet existing seaweed-centric brands had done this miracle plant a disservice, focusing on tropes that made us view it in an often polarizing, unappealing light. 

We partnered with founder Sachi Singh to create a brand identity and positioning that aims to reintroduce seaweed, making it appealing to a mass audience–starting with the tasty Daily Bite. With functional foods like dates, seeds, and almonds, and delicious spices, The Daily Bite is the optimal energy and nutrition boost for any hour. 

Rich, warm colors, alluring textures, and elevated art direction evoke nature’s stunning beauty, while sleek infographics communicate hard-hitting science, coming together to form a system that pulls you in and honors seaweed’s goodness.

We developed a brand that brought together this cutting edge product innovation and the emotional desire to see and recognize yourself as you age—hence the name, Ourself.

With its electric vertical take-off and landing vehicle (think flying taxi), Archer is tackling traffic and pollution in heavily populated areas and shaping the future of urban air mobility. With an anticipated launch of 2024, Archer will allow people who live outside cities to make trips in 10-15 minutes that previously took an hour or more. We created a brand that builds excitement for launch, while grounding the futuristic vehicle in real life.

We crafted the brand system to hero the exhilarating travel that Archer is making an everyday reality. The wordmark’s sporty aesthetic establishes a sense of momentum and movement, while the organic color palette creates a satisfying tension, evoking calm earth and sky. Conceptual illustrations form patterns that depict elements of flight, like elevation, speed, and propulsion, and arresting messaging infuses energy and drama. With a partnership with United and an order for $1 billion aircraft under Archer’s wing, we’re excited to see the brand propelling forward at full speed.

Alto came to Red Antler ready for a rebrand. As a pharmacy that delivers, Alto was frequently getting lumped in with its competition. Our challenge was to build an experience that reflected the depth of Alto’s mission, which goes far beyond bringing prescriptions to your door, and reaches deep into the complexities of our healthcare system. The work for Alto needed to show just how much a pharmacy is capable of, while also bringing its warmth and customer dedication to the forefront. In speaking to Alto users, we heard story after story about the moments Alto had gone above and beyond for them. We sprinkled these throughout the digital experience, created illustrations with their internal team to show a range of patient/provider interactions, and crafted a script wordmark to reference the humanity and guiding intention of a hand-written prescription.

After spending years at L’Oreal, Paul Michaux and Arnaud Plas set out to transform the hair care market with an unprecedented level of customization, through a made-to-order model based on hundreds of personal inputs. Prose needed a brand that could effortlessly stand apart from the category and provoke curiosity and desire for its truly personalized offering. We crafted a brand that exudes beauty, but is anchored in precision. From gorgeous photography that elevates each botanical ingredient to custom product labels that celebrate and explain the inputs for every person’s bottle down to geography and eating or exercise habits, we were able to weave an irresistible story around customized hair care.

We focused on the benefits of truly great sleep, instead of the technical details and jargon that consumed the industry. Through a unique visual and verbal language, we developed a quirky and love-able personality. Casper became the new leader in sleep and we continue to work with the team to rise above the crowded, commodified space and connect with consumers on a deeper level.

Fueled by the mission to democratize creativity, Anchor first launched as “the easiest way to make a podcast.” After gaining a cult-like following and being acquired by Spotify in 2019, the team was ready to grow up their wacky but beloved brand. Our objective was to build a brand for Anchor that cements it as a visionary leader—and unquestionable choice—for creators in the next era of audio. We crafted an identity rooted in self expression, starting with the logo that represents the sound waves of a human voice. From the vibrant color palette to in-the-moment art direction, we made sure to celebrate creators every step of the way. Anchor’s new brand builds flexibility into its original foundation—the idea that podcasting is for everyone—and heroes the voice of the creator and everything it has to say.

With the goal of celebrating how sustainable shopping is also fun and fashionable, we evolved the thredUP brand to signify a satisfying and unrestrained approach to style. ThredUP users can let go of clothing they no longer want while upgrading their look with unique, affordable pieces. This sense of movement and circulation is reflected throughout the system with a glowing aura added to lifestyle photography, and bright, visually diverse identity elements. Bringing a new meaning to thrift, the evolved brand transforms secondhand from a musty compromise to a proud fashion statement.

There’s always the vet, but finding convenient appointments is easier said than done— and a 24/7 relationship with a provider just isn’t possible. 

Founded by Hims co-founder Joe Spector and San Diego-based vet Dr. Brian Evans, Dutch makes clinically proven relief accessible to pet parents everywhere. After an easy (yet comprehensive) intake form, Dutch connects owners with specialists who craft care plans backed in veterinary research. 

To launch this brand in a crowded petcare space, we created an identity that empathized with owners’ self-sacrificing tendences while assuring them that better days are on the horizon.

People have preconceived ideas about gaming on phones. The lack of control and inherent clumsiness has made it something serious gamers scoff at. Cue Backbone—a revolutionary device that turns your phone into a gaming powerhouse by serving as both a controller and dashboard. Coming out against some serious legacy players, Backbone needed a brand and launch video designed to make noise. 

We created a brand that was as rallying and bold as the game-changing device itself. And to make sure people saw that Backbone can up anyone’s game anywhere, we filmed its debut video in the last place anyone would associate with gaming: a farm. With actual farmers. Complete with music video tropes and emphatic graphic overlays, we gave the gaming community something totally new and decidedly epic.

When Backbone first approached us to produce a high-octane, sleek launch video in early 2020, chicken coops were the furthest thing from our minds. But as soon as shelter-in-place orders across the U.S. had settled in, we decided to go all-in on our director's quarantine location and embraced the production limitations, casting his immediate family and friends for the video shoot. All that was left to do was plan... a lot.

Married couple Chris Wirth and Camila Soriano set out to create the first wholesome cocktail company: with a recipe composed of tequila, sparkling water, a squeeze of juice and nothing else, their unnamed cocktail was poised to outshine the most popular ready-to-drink canned options, bubbling over with carbs, calories and mysterious ingredients. We partnered with them to launch Volley and bring a fresh, summery fizz to the category. With a preppy name, raw aluminum cans marked by sharp flavor colors, a cheery, line-drawn mascot named Spike, and our very own handwritten Volley typeface, the brand balances easy-breezy vibes at every turn. The system feels pure, honest, and delicious—all in the spirit of good, clean fun.

We designed a custom, handwritten typeface for Volley to capture the honest, stripped-down, easy-going, nature of the brand and product. It gives the sense that Volley was mixed, labeled, and tossed right into your hands. Each letter has around ten alternate characters, mimicking the quirkiness and variability of real handwriting. Jack Sans influenced the brand's entire illustration style including Volley's mascot Spike and the ingredients drawn on the back of the can.

But Google Fiber is genuinely better, faster, and more reliable. It just needed a brand platform that would put the difference between it and its competition into stark relief.

Through its incredible, technologically-led indoor farms, Bowery grows the purest produce imaginable, at scale, and in cities—with 95% less water than traditional agriculture methods and zero pesticides. With a mission to create the modern farming company, we worked with Irving and his team to build a brand that could change the misconception that the best produce comes from outdoor farms. We built a brand rooted in nature, but supported by technology; a brand where purity and precision work together. With packaging that’s innovative and easy to spot on shelves, and a digital experience that’s warm and relatable, we were able to highlight Bowery’s breakthrough vision and tap into people’s desire for fresh, natural food.

When introducing Bowery’s revolutionary leafy greens on shelf, we needed to create an ownable package design that could capture customers’ attention in grocery stores. Departing from the square and rectangular clamshells often found in the category, we created an entirely new form with an iconic silhouette that’s easy to spot on shelves. Distinct from every angle, the texture and contours of our package are engineered to keep Bowery greens fresh. 

The tapered silhouette of the package allows more airflow between the packages themselves when they’re sitting on-shelf, circulating air more effectively. The packaging’s vibrant graphics and background leaf illustrations pop on shelf and communicate key information clearly, while providing a window to the greens themselves.

Levain Bakery is a New York institution, an integral part of its community, and the home to the world’s absolute best cookies. After more than 20 years, Levain’s founders, Pam and Connie, came to Red Antler with an opportunity to expand its brand — to new storefronts across the world. To bring the heart of Levain forward, we created a delightful world where everything the brand touched became a little more whimsical, a little more fun, and a whole lot sweeter. We began by bringing important details from Levain’s storied history forward - the bright blue of the door on 74th street and the charm of the Upper West Side. From there, we worked to infuse a sense of Pam and Connie’s, joy-filled style into every touchpoint, balancing a quirky collage system and eclectic type style with natural textures and a warm approach to interior design.

This protects trade secrets while leaving consumers in the dark about what they’re putting on their skin. Michelle Pfeiffer was determined to create the first fully transparent fine fragrance line, setting a new standard for the industry. We partnered with her to develop Henry Rose, a brand that measured up to her mission in a way that felt open and responsible without losing the sensual appeal of fragrance. At every possible touchpoint, including the bottle form itself, we balanced honesty with intrigue, creating a raw brand experience that embraced contrast and tension.

With the stress of keeping up with the latest trending series, our “to watch” lists have started feeling more like “to do” lists. Enter Philo, a streaming service with 60+ channels that you can just put on and watch. Our goal was to remind people that TV can be about pleasure not pressure. 

We championed Philo’s stress-free offering by celebrating our inner “Comfort Creatures” – the oddly delightful creatures we turn into when we’re watching how - and what - we love. Across a full 360 campaign that even included a custom TV Channel, we showed that with Philo’s lower-stakes watching, you can just turn it on and tune into your most comfortable self.

We also concepted and created The Comfort Channel, which brings together curated TV-show favorites, calming & playful interstitials, and custom, hypnotic music into one distinctly cozy brand package—only available on Philo.

With hair loss, it’s easy to see there’s a problem, but harder to find a solution. Though only a few products have proven results, the internet is crowded with scare tactics and snake oil. Left to their own devices and anxieties, many men delay taking meaningful action until it’s too late. Keeps, the first portfolio brand from Thirty Madison and founders Steven Gutentag and Demetri Karagas, set out to fix that with a straightforward, enjoyable experience. We rooted the brand in the idea of proactivity and focused our efforts on motivating men to take charge of their hair loss, as early as possible. With an incredibly frank approach and a bit of wit, Keeps became a rallying brand that urged every customer to become a man of action.

Everyone knows the healthcare industry is a mess. Filled with hassle, complicated jargon, and bureaucracy, booking a doctor’s appointment isn’t easy. But Sesame is here to make healthcare feel better, with a marketplace where people can book and pay doctors directly, no insurance needed. To coincide with their expanded launch, they needed a rebrand and campaign that distilled the complexities within the system in a straightforward, inspiring way. 

We created a brand and campaign that clears away everything that gets between you and your care. By letting people know that there is a better way to access care, our dynamic, multi-media campaign highlighted the nuances of the complicated category, and explained how the brand works to simplify them. All viewers have to do is Just Open Sesame.

A year after we partnered with Burrow to launch its DTC sofa brand, the team returned with a new challenge. Having established its sofas as couches without compromise - easy-to-assemble, and eminently stylish -  the brand was ready to make a bigger splash, and stand for something that would make it the go-to brand for upwardly mobile millennials. 

We recognized that today’s city-dwelling 25-35 year-olds are busier than ever, consumed by the Instagram-fueled ideal of always having plans. So, we created a massive integrated campaign that pushed against this trend, and elevated the importance (and validity) of doing nothing - especially on an incredibly comfortable couch. This leisurely message really resonated: in a post-transaction survey, 60% of people attributed their purchase of a Burrow sofa to the campaign.

We felt that “leisure” shouldn’t look like pretty millennials sipping expensive beverages while looking at cool ‘zines. Instead, we depicted people in the positions we all adopt when we’re un-self-consciously getting comfortable — faces mushed, arms hanging, and legs splayed.

As part of Burrow’s OOH buy, we transformed the entire 42nd Street shuttle. Train seats were made to look like Burrow sofa cushions, so New Yorkers could relax in one of three custom car interiors: an arctic car for “chilling out,” a jungle car for “hanging out,” and a space-themed car for...you guessed it…”spacing out.”

Taking advantage of NYC’s vacant storefronts, we created “The Lord of Leisure,” a Zoltar-like figure who gave New Yorkers fortunes from a reclining position. Passersby simply had to text to wake him up to receive leisurely words of wisdom, and a chance to score a free Burrow couch.

Thimble disrupted the small business insurance category by offering coverage on demand. After rebranding it from Verifly, we created a launch campaign to help people understand the difference in its approach with an idea that would stand out in a sea of other insurance ads. 

It doesn’t make any sense to pay for insurance when you’re not getting paid—especially for small business owners. But it's the way it's always been. So, we started by pointing out the ridiculousness of overprotection, then encouraged viewers not to use Thimble... when they’re not working. 

After highlighting the problem with standard insurance policies, we emphasized Thimble as insurance that’s on when you’re working. And off when you’re not. 

We turned the Thimble logo into a practical light to communicate the brand's on-demand nature, which became a visual mnemonic throughout the campaign. 

What better way to prove out the product than to actually use it? The day before production began, we secured commercial liability coverage for the entire shoot using the Thimble app. Everyone — from the set designer and DP to our actors and Libby, the baby pig — was covered precisely for the 2-day duration of production.

Previously called Verifly, Thimble worked with Red Antler to rebrand itself and expand its offering to provide on-demand insurance policies for gig economy workers.

After spending her career curating the best of K-Beauty for her business, Soko Glam, Charlotte Cho decided to launch her own skincare line, starting with the first two steps in a Korean skincare routine: an oil-based cleanser and a water-based cleanser. While Charlotte and her followers were well-versed in coupling these products for a “double cleanse,” we needed to introduce the concept to a new audience, while revealing the value of carving out more time for the rudimentary routine of washing their face. Through a nostalgic script wordmark, indulgent product close-ups, and soothing color palette, we created an entire brand system that comes together to express the transformative effects of taking a little extra time to go deeper. 

Instead of doing a standard skincare tutorial, we leveraged ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) to evoke an experience as immersive as using the products themselves. Featuring macro textures and layered sound design, the video encourages viewers to slow down and go even deeper with Then I Met You.
